We have some exciting free programmes running from our new site at Little Bryn Gwyn farm. The new development will engage groups in the sustainable construction of a new training centre over the next 2 years. This will be a round-pole timber frame structure featuring straw bale walls, and a turf roof.
We have opportunities for groups, volunteer mentors, and construction volunteers:
Groups (8 participants in each group)
1 day a week programmes for 8 weeks, choose from Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Dates: (week commencing)
- Intake 1: 16th September to 13th November
- Intake 2: 20th January to 26th March 2015
Volunteer mentors
Volunteer mentors will have 3 days training in the summer period in preparation for groups starting in September.
Training dates:
Tuesdays 29th July, 5th and 12th August
Or:
Tuesdays 19th, 26th August and 2nd September.
Successful mentors will then work with groups on the dates stated above.
Construction Volunteers
If you’re just interested in getting involved in our build, then why not volunteer with us? As well as ongoing on-the-job training, our Construction Volunteers will have 2 days training in the summer period
Training Dates:
Mondays between 28th July to 8th September 2014.
