What is this project about?<\/span><\/h2>\n

As part of the \u2018Rhondda Skyline\u2019 Climate Action Fund project, \u201cWood for Good<\/strong>\u201d explores how both the community and nature can benefit from developing potential products from the Skyline woodland estate.<\/p>\n

We will work with the local community to explore the potential of what can be realised from the \u201cskyline\u201d of the woodland estate.<\/p>\n

Combining our experience of inclusive and interactive consultation as well as our practical experience of delivering woodland management programmes, outdoor adventure activities, traditional craft programmes and sustainable construction programmes \u2013 we will work with the local community over a period of 24 months to nurture and develop the landscape<\/strong>, whilst exploring the potential of the forest to develop products as part of the Rhondda Skyline Project to generate a sustainable local economy.<\/p>\n

Working closely with the community of Treherbert we\u2019ll deliver programmes which are clinically proven to improve mental health<\/strong>, as well as offering a space for gaining qualifications, whilst the community explores the potential products which could be developed out the woodlands.<\/p>\n

This approach will be driven by the needs of the community and what they identify as products with the greatest potential.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”40″][vc_column_text]\n

Who is this project for?<\/h2>\n

This project is for everyone in the wider Rhondda Cynon Taff area
\nWe will develop a combination of long-term programmes, broken down into intake cycles of 6-8 weeks, one day a week over the course of the 2 year project.<\/p>\n

  • Developing inclusive and meaningful ways of engagement to facilitate community ownership and explore how the woodland estate can create social, economic and nature benefits<\/li>\n
  • Working with local communities from across Rhondda Cynon Taff and in particular targeting those most under represented and most in need of support<\/li>\n

    We will also be utilising the \u201cOld Brewery\u201d site in Treherbert.
